Themistocles Themistocles was born in the village of Phrearrhioi. His father's names was Neocles. His mother wasn't a Athenian from Thrace or Caria. Themistocles was a controversial politician. Cyrus the Great ruled the greek cities of Asia Minor. They were also having conflicts like the war and the Persian empire in the East.
